Foreclosures down, jobs up in first quarter

Douglas County could be renamed Development County with the number of major companies announcing their arrivals of late, but the good news does not stop there.

“We’ve had a 54.9 percent decrease in foreclosures,” Jack Hilbert, chairman of the board of county commissioners, said on May 8 after looking over the first-quarter numbers.
